CE: June Hitch Hike @ Hitchcock

Tuesday, June 15, 2021
7:00 pm8:00 pm
Hitchcock Nature Center 27792 Ski Hill Loop Honey Creek, Iowa 51542

Join us Tuesday, June 15th at 7:00 p.m. for the second hike of the 2021 Hitch Hike series.

Take a closer look at some of Hitchcock's best prairie remnants as you are guided along Badger Ridge. Discover purple coneflowers and other early summer wildflowers and get an idea of what the hills may have looked like during the time of Lewis and Clark.

The public is invited to attend all the hikes in this series. They are designed to introduce visitors to Hitchcock Nature Center as well as the Loess Hills. The series begins with a moderate level hike and will get progressively more challenging as we build up to a 3+ mile difficult hike in September. Water bottles, bug spray, & sunblock are all recommended, please dress for the weather & wear appropriate footwear.

Well behaved dogs are permitted to accompany their owners but must be leashed at all times, you must pick up and remove their waster, and you may be asked to remain toward the end of the group if there is a large number of participants. This is an educational program, disruptive pets may be asked to leave the group.

Due to COVID-19 the format of this program may be adjusted. Please check back for updates.

Pre-registration is not required for this event, free will donations will be gratefully accepted & used to fund additional free & low cost public programming at your county parks.

Participants must purchase a $5.00 per vehicle daily pass with exact change or check at the front gate paybox, or have a valid Pottawattamie Conservation Membership to enter the park. To purchase your Pottawattamie Conservation Foundation Membership online please visit www.pottawattamieconservationfoundation.com.

Weather permitting, please meet at the Loess Hills Lodge.
