  will be holding a tree care workshop in Lincoln on Thursday\, March 28th 
 covering a wide range of topics presented by our expert staff PLUS nursery
  professionals\, arborists\, and other knowledgeable Nebraska tree profess
 ionals!\n \nHere's what we'll cover:\n\n•	The Value of Trees: Why We Care (
 or should care):\nMost people like trees and yet canopy continues to decli
 ne in many of our communities. This session will remind us how important t
 rees are while summarizing some of the challenges trees face in the commun
 ity forest. \n\n•	Green Industry & Wood Utilization Perspectives: \nNursery
 \, arborist\, and wood utilization professionals will cover some of the re
 wards and challenges they face in providing trees\, managing them and util
 izing those that have died.\n\n•	Tree Health (or lack thereof): \nA myriad 
 of tree health concerns will be summarized including emerging diseases and
  insect pests and the growing concern of herbicide damage. \n\n•	Some of Ou
 r Favorite Trees: \nOver 200 species of trees grow in Nebraska and yet les
 s than 20 species dominate our planted forests. A few tree huggers will hi
 ghlight some of their favorite trees with the goal of improving tree diver
 sity. \n\n•        Nebraska’s Champion Tree Program: \nBig trees naturally
  catch our attention. This presentation will cover some of the big trees i
 n Nebraska and explain how Nebraska’s champion tree program works.\n\n•	Opt
 ional Outdoor Activity: \nCome outside (weather permitting) to see how a p
 otential tree champion is measured in Lincoln.\n\nRegistration ends March 
 26th. Lunch provided with registration fee of $25.\n
