 rch 21st at 9:00 a.m. for the first session of a new 2020 programming seri
 es\, 'A Land Ethic Workshop'.\n\nJoin instructor Ron Cisar as we celebrate
  the life & legacy of famous naturalist & philosopher Aldo Leopold. Our Ma
 rch 21st session will focus on Leopold's essay 'The Geese Return' from his
  classic work 'A Sand County Almanac'.\n\nParticipants in this session wil
 l study & learn:\nTo identify & recognize the characteristics of various s
 pecies of geese\nNature's changes that you can watch for during the month 
 of March\nHow to begin & keep a nature journal\nHow to build a 'Leopold Be
 nch'\nParticipants will also take to the Hitchcock trails for a short hike
  to explore the signs of the season before ending the day with a song. \n
 \nThis program is intended for participants age 14 & over with an interest
  in the natural world\, no experience or prior knowledge is required to pa
 rticipate. Online pre-registration is required as space is limited. For qu

 gram is $15.00 per person per individual session\, or\, participants may r
 egister for the entire 10-session season at the discounted price of $75.00

 hic Workshop'\n'A Land Ethic Workshop' will focus on the work & life of na
 turalist & Iowa native Aldo Leopold. Each month participants will explore 
 a new work by Leopold coupled with hands on activities such as hikes\, aqu
 atic studies\, guest lectures\, sketching\, journaling and more. \n\nProgr
 ams are from 9:00 a.m. to noon & occur monthly\, March through December & 
 are held at Hitchcock Nature Center. Participants may register for individ
 ual sessions or opt to attend all 2020 sessions. Participants do not need 
 to attend every program session. Individual sessions are $15.00 per person
  & our full programming series of 10 sessions is $75.00.\n\nParticipants s
 hould note that classes will be held at Hitchcock Nature Center & will at 
 times require pedestrian travel over difficult terrain\; some sessions may
  be physically challenging. Portions of each session will occur outdoors\,
  students should come prepared for the weather & the elements. \n\nCANCELL
 ATION POLICY\nGuests may cancel their reservation for a full refund up to 
 1 week (7 days) prior to the first day of the event by calling 712-545-328
 3 & speaking with staff directly. Cancellations received less than 7 days 
 in advance of the event will not be refunded. Program fees for events canc
 elled by Pottawattamie Conservation for any reason will be refunded.\n\nMe
