 April 11th at 9:00 a.m. for the April session of a new 2020 programming se
 ries\, 'A Land Ethic Workshop'.\n\nJoin instructor Ron Cisar as we celebra
 te the life & legacy of famous naturalist & philosopher Aldo Leopold. Our 
 April 11th session will focus on Leopold's essay 'Bur Oak' from his classi
 c work 'A Sand County Almanac' & will feature guest speaker Mary Garabrand
 t\, Associate Professor Emeritus with Iowa Western Community College. \n\n
 Participants in this session will study & learn:\nTo identify & recognize 
 early species of spring wildflowers in the Loess Hills\nNature's changes t
 hat you can watch for during the month of April\nContinued nature journali
 ng experience\nParticipants will also take to the Hitchcock trails for a s
 hort hike to explore the signs of the season before ending the day with a 
 song. \n\nThis program is intended for participants age 14 & over with an 
 interest in the natural world\, no experience or prior knowledge is requir
 ed to participate. Online pre-registration is required as space is limited
 . For questions not answered online please call 712-545-3283.\n\nCost for 
 this program is $15.00 per person per individual session\, or\, participan
 ts may register for the remaining 9 sessions of the 2020 season at the dis
 counted price of $75.00.  \n*Participants do not need to attend every sess

 \n\nAbout 'A Land Ethic Workshop'\n\n'A Land Ethic Workshop' will focus on
  the work & life of naturalist & Iowa native Aldo Leopold. Each month part
 icipants will explore a new work by Leopold coupled with hands on activiti
 es such as hikes\, aquatic studies\, guest lectures\, sketching\, journali
 ng and more.\n\nPrograms are from 9:00 a.m. to noon & occur monthly March 
 through December & are held at Hitchcock Nature Center. Participants may r
 egister for individual sessions or opt to attend all 2020 sessions. Partic
 ipants do not need to attend every program session. Individual sessions ar
 e $15.00 per person & our full programming series of 10 sessions is $75.00
 .\n\nParticipants should note that classes will be held at Hitchcock Natur
 e Center & will at times require pedestrian travel over difficult terrain\
 ; some sessions may be physically challenging. Portions of each session wi
 ll occur outdoors\, students should come prepared for the weather & the el
 ements. \n\nCANCELLATION POLICY\nGuests may cancel their reservation for a
  full refund up to 1 week (7 days) prior to the first day of the event by 
 calling 712-545-3283 & speaking with staff directly. Cancellations receive
 d less than 7 days in advance of the event will not be refunded. Program f
 ees for events cancelled by Pottawattamie Conservation for any reason will
  be refunded.\n\nMeet at the Loess Hills Lodge at Hitchcock Nature Center.
