 nter on Sunday\, June 7th at 9:00 a.m. for the next session of a new 2020 
 programming series\, 'A Land Ethic Workshop'.\n\nJoin instructor Ron Cisar
  as we celebrate the life & legacy of famous naturalist & philosopher Aldo
  Leopold. Our June 7th session will focus on Leopold's essay 'The Alder Fo
 rk - A Fish Idyl'. \n\nParticipants in this session will study & learn:\nE
 xplore the ecological components of a freshwater pond\nCarry out field wor
 k at a local pond collecting both abiotic & biotic data\nInvasive species 
 identification & negative impacts\nNature's changes that you can watch for
  during the month of June\nParticipants will also take to the Hitchcock tr
 ails for a short hike to explore the signs of the season before ending the
  day with a song. \n\nThis program is intended for participants age 14 & o
 ver with an interest in the natural world\, no experience or prior knowled
 ge is required to participate. Online pre-registration is required as spac
 e is limited. For questions not answered online please call 712-545-3283.
 \n\nCost for this program is $15.00 per person per individual session\, or
 \, participants may register for the remaining 8 sessions of the 2020 seas
 on at the discounted price of $75.00.  \n*Participants do not need to atte

 hic Workshop' will focus on the work & life of naturalist & Iowa native Al
 do Leopold. Each month participants will explore a new work by Leopold cou
 pled with hands on activities such as hikes\, aquatic studies\, guest lect
 ures\, sketching\, journaling and more.\n\nPrograms are from 9:00 a.m. to 
 noon & occur monthly March through December & are held at Hitchcock Nature
  Center. Participants may register for individual sessions or opt to atten
 d all 2020 sessions. Participants do not need to attend every program sess
 ion. Individual sessions are $15.00 per person & our full programming seri
 es of 10 sessions is $75.00.\n\nParticipants should note that classes will
  be held at Hitchcock Nature Center & will at times require pedestrian tra
 vel over difficult terrain\; some sessions may be physically challenging. 
 Portions of each session will occur outdoors\, students should come prepar
 ed for the weather & the elements. \n\nCANCELLATION POLICY\nGuests may can
 cel their reservation for a full refund up to 1 week (7 days) prior to the
  first day of the event by calling 712-545-3283 & speaking with staff dire
 ctly. Cancellations received less than 7 days in advance of the event will
  not be refunded. Program fees for events cancelled by Pottawattamie Conse
 rvation for any reason will be refunded.\n\nMeet at the Loess Hills Lodge 
 at Hitchcock Nature Center. \n\nThis event is not pet friendly\, service a
