 July 11th at 9:00 a.m. for the next session of a new 2020 programming seri
 es\, 'A Land Ethic Workshop'.\n\nJoin instructor Ron Cisar as we celebrate
  the life & legacy of famous naturalist & philosopher Aldo Leopold. Our Ju
 ly 11th session will focus on Leopold's essay 'Prairie Birthday' & will fe
 ature guest speaker Chad Graeve\, Natural Resource Specialist with Pottawa
 ttamie Conservation. \n\nParticipants in this session will study & learn:
 \nPlant species of Iowa's prairie & woodland ecosystems\nQuadrant study of
  area biodiversity\nUsing a dichotomous key\nNature's changes that you can
  watch for during the month of July\nContinued nature journaling experienc
 e\nParticipants will also take to the Hitchcock trails for a short hike to
  explore the signs of the season before ending the day with a song. \n\nTh
 is program is intended for participants age 14 & over with an interest in 
 the natural world\, no experience or prior knowledge is required to partic
 ipate. Online pre-registration is required as space is limited. For questi
 ons not answered online please call 712-545-3283.\n\nCost for this program
  is $15.00 per person per individual session\, or\, participants may regis
 ter for the remaining 6 sessions of the 2020 season at the discounted pric
 e of $75.00.  \n*Participants do not need to attend every session to enjoy

 son \n\nAbout 'A Land Ethic Workshop'\n\n'A Land Ethic Workshop' will focu
 s on the work & life of naturalist & Iowa native Aldo Leopold. Each month 
 participants will explore a new work by Leopold coupled with hands on acti
 vities such as hikes\, aquatic studies\, guest lectures\, sketching\, jour
 naling and more.\n\nPrograms are from 9:00 a.m. to noon\, occur monthly Ma
 rch through December & are held at Hitchcock Nature Center. Participants m
 ay register for individual sessions or opt to attend all 2020 sessions. Pa
 rticipants do not need to attend every program session. Individual session
 s are $15.00 per person & our full programming series of 10 sessions is $7
 5.00.\n\nParticipants should note that classes will be held at Hitchcock N
 ature Center & will at times require pedestrian travel over difficult terr
 ain\; some sessions may be physically challenging. Portions of each sessio
 n will occur outdoors\, students should come prepared for the weather & th
 e elements. \n\nCANCELLATION POLICY\nGuests may cancel their reservation f
 or a full refund up to 1 week (7 days) prior to the first day of the event
  by calling 712-545-3283 & speaking with staff directly. Cancellations rec
 eived less than 7 days in advance of the event will not be refunded. Progr
 am fees for events cancelled by Pottawattamie Conservation for any reason 
 will be refunded.\n\nMeet at the Loess Hills Lodge at Hitchcock Nature Cen
