EScZXFNENYa7gb5NLHXegQ4DRHM7CBg_64XUE\n\nJust as we read a book to pursue
knowledge and entertain ourselves with adventures and stories\, we can rea
d the layers of rock in the Earth. Layers of rock can teach us about geolo
gical events that shape our planet\, climate trends and organisms that liv
ed long before humans. Join us anytime for this FREE family event between
10am and 2pm at Schramm Park State Recreation Area’s Geological Display on
Saturday\, April 4\, 2020. Experts in the field will guide guests on a j
ourney through 300 million years of history at the outcrop. \n\nE. Frank S
chramm\, Professor Emeritus of Geology at the University of Nebraska Linco
ln\, donated Schramm State Park in 1967. Professor Schramm recognized the
outcrop’s value as a cultural resource for geological education. The site
offers a rare opportunity for the public to view earth’s layers and search
for fossils. This event is just one way in which we can continue his lega
cy of teaching people about the importance of this space\, thanks to the s
upport of our partners: UNL\, USDA and Nebraska Master Naturalists. \n\nTh
e event at the outcrop is free to the public. Vehicles entering the park r
equire a State Park Entry Permit. Purchase a permit at the kiosk as you en
ter the park or at the front desk of Schramm Education Center\, which is o
pen from 9am to 5pm daily. Admission fees do apply to the center. In case
of inclement weather\, activities will be in the classroom of the educatio
 n center.
