 orkshop will be conducted by Kelly McKay (BioEco Research and Monitoring C
 enter)\, with assistance from Mark Roberts (Clinton County Conservation) a
 nd Brian Ritter (Nahant Marsh Education Center) & is being presented as pa
 rt of the Building Better Birders programming series. \n\nThis program is 
 open to all ages but is geared toward participants age 12 & over. There is
  no cost to attend this workshop. Pre-registration is required as space is
  limited. \n\nThis is the first of five Building Better Birders workshops 
 scheduled for Sunday\, May 9th at Hitchcock Nature Center.\n\n6:00 a.m. - 
 Sunrise Guided Birding Hike\n8:30 a.m. - Introduction to the Warblers of I
 owa\n10:30 a.m. - Mid-Morning Guided Birding Hike\n1:30 p.m.- Introduction
  to Sparrows\, Tanagers\, Grosbeaks\, Buntings\, and Similar Species of Io
 wa\n3:30 p.m. - Afternoon Guided Birding Hike\n\nAttendees may register fo
 r all programs or may select the ones that most interest them. Click the l
 inks above for more information on each workshop. \n\nBuilding Better Bird
 ers is a programming series designed to improve the bird identification sk
 ills of local citizens & promote a greater interest in citizen science pro
 gramming. Workshops are presented free of charge & supported by the Resour
 ce Enhancement and Protection - Conservation Education Program (REAP-CEP).
 \n\n*In the event of cancellation due to inclement weather participants wi
 ll be notified via the email address provided during registration.\n\nDue 
 to COVID-19 the format of this program has been adjusted. \n\n6-foot dista
 nce will be maintained between individuals/family groups\nMasks required w
 hile inside and recommended when distancing is impossible outside\nStaff w
 ill wear masks when 6-foot distance is not possible or indoors\nMaximum re
 gistration has been reduced\nParticipants must sign a participation waiver
  upon arrival\nThis event is not pet friendly\, service animals are always
  welcome. Please meet at the Loess Hills Lodge. Weather Permitting.
