  noon for a fun community science project. Participants will learn about o
 ur native plant & animal communities while contributing data to help us ma
 ke informed decisions about how we manage the habitats at Hitchcock Nature
  Center.\n\nStarting at 9:00 a.m. on June 12th participants will be able t
 o visit informative stations to learn about the plant & animal species tha
 t call Hitchcock Nature Center home. Staff will be on hand to help guide p
 articipants in recording data using the free iNaturalist application on th
 eir phone. Please note\, participants must provide their own phone for use
  & be willing to download & make use of this free application to participa
 te in data collection activities. \n\nStations & staff assisstance will be
  avaialable until noon & we request that participants arrive no later than
  11:00 a.m. to visit the stations & prepare for data collection.\n\nThis e
 vent is free with paid park admission or a valid Pottawattamie Conservatio
 n Foundation membership\, & no advance registration is required. Free will
  donations will be gratefully accepted & used to fund additional free & lo
 w cost public programming at your county parks. \n\nThis event is open to 
 participants of all ages. This event will be held outdoors & includes pede
 strian travel over uneven surfaces. Please wear appropriate footwear & dre
 ss for the weather. We also recommend participants bring sunblock\, insect
  repellent\, & water. Strollers are not permitted.\n\nDue to COVID-19 the 
 format of this program may be adjusted. Please check back for updates.\n\n
 Participants must purchase a $5.00 per vehicle daily pass with exact chang
 e or check at the front gate paybox\, or have a valid Pottawattamie Conser
