  best prairie remnants as you are guided along Badger Ridge. Discover purp
 le coneflowers and other early summer wildflowers and get an idea of what 
 the hills may have looked like during the time of Lewis and Clark.\n\nThe 
 public is invited to attend all the hikes in this series. They are designe
 d to introduce visitors to Hitchcock Nature Center as well as the Loess Hi
 lls. The series begins with a moderate level hike and will get progressive
 ly more challenging as we build up to a 3+ mile difficult hike in Septembe
 r. Water bottles\, bug spray\, & sunblock are all recommended\, please dre
 ss for the weather & wear appropriate footwear.\n\nWell behaved dogs are p
 ermitted to accompany their owners but must be leashed at all times\, you 
 must pick up and remove their waster\, and you may be asked to remain towa
 rd the end of the group if there is a large number of participants. This i
 s an educational program\, disruptive pets may be asked to leave the group
 .\n\nDue to COVID-19 the format of this program may be adjusted. Please ch
 eck back for updates.\n\nPre-registration is not required for this event\,
  free will donations will be gratefully accepted & used to fund additional
  free & low cost public programming at your county parks.\n\nParticipants 
 must purchase a $5.00 per vehicle daily pass with exact change or check at
  the front gate paybox\, or have a valid Pottawattamie Conservation Member
