  reconstruct fire\, forest\, and climate histories\, and the application o
 f such data to current issues in forest and fire management and restoratio
 n ecology. He received BA and MS degrees from the University of Arizona an
 d a PhD degree in Forest Sciences from Colorado State University\, where h
 e also serves as an Affiliate Faculty member in the Department of Forest a
 nd Rangeland Stewardship.
