X-WR-CALDESC:Hello everyone!\n\nOctober is Nebraska is one of my favorite t
imes of the year\, the weather is cool\, the leaves are changing\, and it
is Nebraska Reptile Month! That’s right\, the whole month of October will
be proclaimed\, by the governor\, as Nebraska Reptile Month! So\, to cel
ebrate this\, the Nebraska Game and Parks Fish & Wildlife Education Divisi
on is hosting a celebratory event at Hardin Hall (UNL East Campus) on Thur
sday October 21 from 5:00-8:30pm. What makes this even more special is th
at National Reptile Awareness Day is October 21\, hence\, why we are hosti
ng this event this night.\n\n \n\nSo\, this all being said\, I am asking o
ur community partners (all of you) in the Eastern Nebraska area if they wo
uld be willing to come out and assist with this event? My idea is that or
ganizations would display and set up a booth with either an activity\, liv
 e animals\, information\, etc. all about reptiles/the environment\, benefi
ts of reptiles\, etc.\, to bring awareness of reptiles to the citizens of
Nebraska. I am also asking Dennis Ferraro to have a Snakes of Nebraska di
splay in Hardin Hall as well. The goal is that families will come to Hard
in Hall and visit different booths and then around 7pm or so there will be
a keynote program about native Nebraska reptiles in the auditorium sectio
n of Hardin Hall. If anyone was around to assist with Naturepalooza back
in 2015/2016 this will be a very similar event\, but focusing strictly on
native Nebraska reptiles. \n\nAt this event we will also be displaying the
2021 Nebraska Reptile Month K-12 Art Contest submissions. This will be t
he second year that Game and Parks has hosted this event\, however\, we th
ought we would make it even bigger by doing a large scale event\, as well
as the art contest. Winners will be recognized at this event as well.\n\n
\n\nThis is a FREE event that will be hosted by the Nebraska Game and Par
ks Commission and the School of Natural Resources. There will also be FRE
E event parking for volunteers as well as public attending the event. \n\n
