 at” Muska\, to Hitchcock Nature Center for a spring environmental educator
  training.\n\nEngaging Our Natural Awareness: A Model for Education\n\nApr
 il 24th\, 25th\, & 26th\nat Hitchcock Nature Center\n\nIn this 3-day exper
 iential training\, you will learn skills and techniques to further your ab
 ility to inspire and engage participants of all ages with the natural worl
 d. Dave will share tools and techniques that he has personally gathered ov
 er the course of his career as a naturalist\, educator\, and program direc
 tor. Many of these tools are driven by research in human psychology\, biol
 ogy\, elementary education\, and anthropology.\n\nTopics covered include t
 he following:\n\n•	Teaching Methods\n•	The Art of Mindfulness\n•	The Art of S
 torytelling\n•	The Art of Observation\n•	Lesson Planning\n•	Fire: A Tool for 
 Teaching\n•	Carving: Long Running Projects and Focus\n•	Mycology for All Age
 s\n•	And so much more!\n\nDave studied Environmental Biology at the College
  of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse\, NY. Dave is a Wildern
 ess Skills Instructor\, Naturalist\, and Licensed Outdoor Guide and founde
 r of Ondatra Adventures\, an endeavor devoted to providing people with a d
 eeper connection to the natural world through educational programs\, guide
 d hikes\, and excursions. Dave works with children and adults to develop m
 eaningful and personal relationships with the natural world and its fellow
  organisms and is a Teacher-Naturalist at the North Branch Nature Center. 
 He has over twenty years of experience teaching ancestral skills to studen
 ts of all ages.\n\nRegistration for all three days is $150. Early registra
 tion and scholarships are available for IAN members.\n\nThis event will ta
 ke place at Hitchcock Nature Center 27792 Ski Hill Loop Honey Creek IA. Fr
 ee tent camping is available for registrants on site. Several primitive ca
 bins are also available to rent and additional lodging options are availab
