VO: Prairie Violet Planting

Friday, September 24, 2021

We have a couple of volunteer workdays coming up that I wanted to make you aware of. Some of you participated in planting prairie violet sets last September at Pioneers Park. We’ll be planting violets (and possibly other varieties) again this year...this time at Two Creeks Prairie which is just southeast of Conestoga Lake.

When: Friday, September 24th exact time TBD but will be in the a.m (probably 8a to noon or so). Lincoln Parks & Rec will get back to me early next week with more details which I’ll pass on to you as soon as possible. Rain date will be September 30th.
Where: Two Creeks Prairie — 8075 W Old Cheney Road

Also, we have more work to do on the wetlands restoration at Nebraska Game & Parks HQ in Lincoln. We’ve made great progress so far but have some additional clean up work to do before cold weather comes (removing a few more cattails, etc.) I’ll will be coordinating another workday with Game & Parks biologists and will send more details soon. Those workdays will be in October.

Thanks and let me know if you have any questions.
