The NMN Annual Reunion is an opportunity to connect with and gain inspiration from your statewide naturalist community. Contribute, explore, and learn together at Nebraska’s own field-based experiential classroom and research area, Cedar Point Biological Station (CPBS). 

The 2026 Reunion will be a balance of volunteering and community connection in Nebraska’s shortgrass prairie. We have coordinated with our lovely partners at CPBS to identify where NMN can contribute directly to the needs of the station. 

The NMN community has a wide variety of skills, knowledge, resources and abilities. There is a space for everyone to contribute to CPBS. All NMN community members and their partners are welcome and valued. 

 

VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP

Registrants will be emailed a link to sign-up for a volunteer project or need that aligns with their ability, know-how, skills, or interest in developing new skills. If you have particular experience or know-how in a project listed below, consider signing-up to be a Volunteer Lead or Volunteer Point.

Volunteer Leads

A volunteer lead has experience with a volunteer project listed below and will be depended on to lead the NMN volunteers in their group. CPBS staff will also provide leadership, guidance, resources assistance, and instruction. 

We are looking for Volunteer Leads with the following experience:

  • Drip irrigation
  • Wood Chipping
  • Milling
  • Mechanical Maintenance
  • Chainsaw sharpening. 

Volunteer Points

A volunteer point will be the point person for a volunteer project listed below and will be depended on to delegate and organize the NMN volunteers in their group. CPBS staff will also provide leadership, guidance, resources assistance, and instruction. 

We are looking for Volunteer Points to lead the following projects:

  • Painting
  • Landscaping/seed bed prep/seeding
  • Deep Cleaning
  • Tree Planting

 

COMMUNITY CONNECTION

  • Sunrise/Sunset Floats on Lake Ogallala
  • Star Gazing
  • Campfire Gathering
  • Geology Hike
  • Kingley Dam Tour

 

LOCATION

CPBS is located just east of the Kingsley Dam, on the south shore of Lake Ogallala. 170 Cedar Point Drive, Rural Ogallala, NE 69153.

FACILITIES INCLUDE

  • Shared bunk houses and shared showers/restrooms. 
    • Shared bunk houses do not have AC.  
  • A limited number of beds with private bathroom and AC.
  • Tenting and RV options are available, 
  • Goodall Lodge will host our meals and provide a community space.

COST

There is no fee to participate in the Reunion.

A suggested minimum $15 per person per night donation to CPBS, to cover the cost of food.

Employee Access, Training and Expectations -- Our organization values, ethical standards, policies and practices are committed to the protection of user information. In general, our business practices limit employee access to confidential information, and limit the use and disclosure of such information to authorized persons, processes and transactions.
  10. How Can You Access and Correct Your Information? You may request access to all your personally identifiable information that we collect online and maintain in our database by emailing us using the contact form provided to you within the site structure of our website.
  11. Do We Disclose Information to Outside Parties?
