CE: The Science of…Migration

Thursday, September 30, 2021

Virtual Event

It’s not just birds that migrate, although, this type of seasonal movement that most flocks do is probably the most well-known. But, migration can be seen happening in all major branches of the animal kingdom. This includes fish, insects, amphibians, mammals and even slime molds! Migration isn’t just about north to south, it could be east to west, round trips involving lands and over oceans, altitudinal journeys up to higher or lower areas, and movements through the water column. In this episode we will discuss animals in Nebraska that migrate, why they migrate and how they prepare for this (sometimes) long journey to a distant or semi-distant land.
