Amphibians of Nebraska

Hop into the fascinating world of Nebraska amphibians with state herpetologist Dennis Ferraro at the Schramm Education Center as we kick off National Amphibian Week. Learn about the diverse amphibians that call Nebraska home and how to conserve them.
This class will include:
-Learn about the many amphibians that call Nebraska home in a lecture-style presentation in the Schramm Education Center Classroom and view live examples of many of Nebraska’s frog, toad, and salamander species
-Then, with the supervision of a professional scientist, learn and practice catching and identifying frogs outdoors at a pond.
-An optional evening frog calling class may also be planned depending on weather.
This class is free, but advance registration is required. email jennifer.ruyle@nebraska.gov. Registration is limited to 25 people. This class is recommended for ages 8+ due to the lecture activity. Participants should dress for the weather forecast and wear closed-toed shoes that can get dirty.
