Join Nebraska Game and Parks for a one-of-a-kind guided hike as we search for the secretive and often misunderstood reptiles and amphibians that share our Nebraska landscapes. From sunbathing snakes to chorus frogs calling from the wetlands, we’ll uncover the hidden lives of these unique creatures!
What to expect:
– A slow-paced hike with stops for observing herps (and other wildlife)
– Hands-on learning about native species and their habitats
– Herping tips, fun facts, and maybe a surprise or two!
– Great photo opportunities for nature lovers and budding herpetologists
**Absolutely no collection of animals will be allowed.
What to wear:
– Sturdy shoes, dress for the weather, and bring your sense of curiosity. Optional: water, sunscreen, bug spray, and a snack if needed.
– Whether you’re a herp enthusiast or just curious about what slinks and hops nearby, this hike is for you!
Everyone is welcome!
**This event will require a valid 2025 Nebraska park permit to enter Two Rivers.
No registration required for this event!
We will meet at the Two Rivers Office Area Building at 10am!
