Description of Volunteer Opportunity:
Schramm Park SRA holds regular volunteer opportunities to assist with oak woodland restoration efforts. Join NGPC staff as we work on activities such as invasive species removal, seed collection, trail maintenance, brush piling, and tree planting.
Register in advance if plan to attend so we can estimate head count for work materials.
Wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes and long pants, bring water, and outdoor work/garden gloves. Long sleeves are also recommended. All ages are welcome for this opportunity, but anyone under the age of 18 must have an accompanying adult.
Meet at the park shelter next to Pond A. We’ll kick things off with an introduction to the project at the posted start time and then get started. Volunteers will need to sign a standard volunteer waiver upon arrival. We are meeting in the park, so a state park vehicle permit is required.
Need: Naturalists Needed for Habitat Stewardship
Skill Requirement: Standing/walking for two hours. Bending.
Age Limit: Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Age: 12+ years old preferred; however younger is okay if maturity level is higher than age.
How many volunteers are you requesting? Anyone interested.
