Schramm Education Center hosts Water Works

Tuesday and Wednesday, May 5th and 6th, 2026 Programs run from 10am-1:30pm

Schramm Education Center hosts Water Works, which is a two day field trip opportunity annually with partner organizations (NRD, Extension, Corp of Engineers and more!) the first Tuesday and Wednesday in May, this year on the 5th and 6th. Volunteers arrive and we have donuts and an introduction, then we head out to our stations to lead programs from 10am to 1:30, with a provided lunch break meal.
This year we need naturalists who can help at the education center by hosting the Pallid Sturgeon Touch Tank station, a reptile table or supervising in the Wonder Woodland or Aquarium loop. We also do a Pond Ecology program where students will use nets, scopes and microscopes to collect and observe critters in the water (training and/or curriculum available).
