The annual Bird EnCOUNTer is scheduled for Saturday, February 16 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. This year’s event will be held at Loren Eiseley Library, 1530 Superior Street, Lincoln, NE. This free event is open to the public and celebrated in conjunction with Cornell Lab's February Great Backyard Bird Count. The event is sponsored by Wachiska Audubon Society, Lincoln City Libraries, Nebraska Master Naturalists, and other local and state environmental organizations. There will be several bird-focused hands-on activities for all age groups, including drawing birds with one of America’s preeminent ornithologists, Paul Johnsgard.
