Wild & Scenic Film Festival Comes to Lincoln!
The Prairie Pines Partners nonprofit and Threads – Footloose & Fancy are bringing the Wild & Scenic Film Festival to Lincoln. The festival inspires environmental activism and a love for nature through stellar filmmaking, beautiful cinematography and first-rate storytelling to inform, inspire and ignite solutions and possibilities to restore the earth and human communities, while creating a positive future for the next generation. The Lincoln festival presents ten award winning short films at the Railyard Cube, 350 Canopy Street on Wednesday, June 26 at 7 PM. Doors open at 6 PM.
The Wild & Scenic Film Festival was started as an annual fundraiser for South Yuba River Citizen’s League in California to raise funds and awareness to recover California’s wild salmon and protect the Yuba River watershed. It has gone on to become one of the nation’s premier environmental and adventure film festivals and its films go on tour around the country, spreading the messages in the events hosted by local organizations as a platform to inspire activism in their own communities. Local nature and conservation inspired organizations will be on hand with information about their activities.
Ticket sales benefit the Prairie Pines Partners nonprofit (prairiepines.org) who promote conservation and contact with nature at the Prairie Pines Nature Preserve. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Children 12 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Threads – Footloose & Fancy stores located at1219 P St. and 4131 Pioneer Woods Dr. and over the phone (402-776-6119), or at Prairie Pines Nature Preserve Second Saturday events.
