2019 Reunion

Nature Conservancy's Niobrara Valley Preserve

This year’s Nebraska Master Naturalist Reunion will take place August 9th-11th at The Nature Conservancy’s Niobrara Valley Preserve. This event is open to all Master Naturalists, Program Partners and friends and family of the program. If you are planning to attend please rsvp no later than Monday July 29th. Cost: $10 per person, per night. Payment will be made directly to Nature conservancy onsite.

Activities will include:
Friday August 8:00 AM: Master Naturalist Executive Board Meeting
Friday Afternoon: 1:00pm Bison Tour, led by TNC staff
Friday Evening: Foraging for wild edibles, led by Master Naturalist Dawn Bryant
Friday Evening: Pot Luck Dinner. Please bring and Item to share!

Saturday Niobrara River Float: This year reservations will need to be made independently, to go as a group we encourage you to reserve a canoe or kayak with Prairie River Outfitters (Sunny Brook Camp) https://www.facebook.com/sunny.brook.camp/ you must call 402-376-1887 to make reservations. We will be doing the 1:00pm trip from Smith Falls back to Sunny Brook Camp, this is about a 3 hour float. This outfitter is owned and operated by a local Master Naturalists Shirley and Ron Winter. If you would like to bring your own kayak or canoe, the outfitter can haul them at a small charge. You will want to make your reservations with the outfitter asap, as spots are filling up!

Saturday evening: Master Naturalist Cookout, we will provide, burgers, brats, and sides.

Saturday after dinner Speaker: Baxter H. Seguin, Nebraska North American Bat Monitoring Program, Nebraska North American Bat Monitoring Program Coordinator Nebraska Cooperative Fish & Wildlife Research Unit

Lodging Info:
Both Bunk houses (10 Beds Each) will be available. Bunkhouses spaces may fill up fast. If you would like to bring a tent you can also do that or a small rv to plug in.
If you would like to attend please let me know by Monday July 29th, please reply with the days you will e attending, how many in your party and if you would like to stay in the bunkhouse or camp.
