Homestead Volunteer Drop-in Series: Garlic Mustard Removal
Homestead National Historical Park Drop-in Volunteer Opportunities Series
Garlic Mustard Removal
Support prairie restoration by identifying and removing garlic mustard, an invasive plant that impacts native species.
Many of these opportunities connect directly to prairie restoration, citizen science, monitoring, and stewardship within a historic homesteading landscape.
Each opportunity begins at the Education Center. These are flexible drop in opportunities, so participants may join for as much or as little time as they are able. No prior experience is needed and all training, tools, and guidance will be provided on site. If members would like to complete paperwork in advance and track their service hours through the National Park Service system, they may apply through Volunteer.gov using the links provided with each opportunity. Advance registration is not required to participate.
