Program Background
The Nebraska Master Naturalist Junior Program provides youth, 9-12 years old, with an understanding of Nebraska's flora, fauna, soils/geology, and hydrology through the use of pre-designed lesson plans. Intended for both formal and informal education, the program brings together natural resource specialists, Master Naturalists, and educators to foster an environmentally focused learning community through natural resource curriculum, implementation, and partner resources to promote conservation for future generations.

Since the program's creation in 2009, Master Naturalists have contributed more than 87,500 hours to more than 8,000 projects in NE, translating to over $2.2 million in salary savings to natural resource agencies and organizations!
