Monarch & Regal Fritillary Butterfly Survey Training

Saturday, May 31, 2025
Schramm Education Center Gretna, NE

Are you interested becoming a community scientist and helping conserve Nebraska’s rare, at-risk butterflies? If so, please join Nebraska Game and Parks Commission wildlife biologists on Saturday, May 31 at the Schramm Education Center to learn how to participate in the monarch and regal fritillary community science project. Help us collect valuable data about these at-risk species in the state.

The training will open with a presentation at 1 p.m., followed by a mock survey. During this extensive training, you will learn how to walk an assigned transect, count butterflies, and assess habitat features. Bring water, snacks, notebook, and a hat for the brief field portion.
