Pre-trip Meeting: The Nebraska Master Naturalist Reunion kayak trip will begin with a pre-float meeting Friday afternoon, after the bison tour, at NVP. This meeting will include land-based kayak instruction, river dynamics, shuttle planning and timing, and general prep information for your float.

River Time: Departure from NVP Saturday morning will be 7:00 am, to capture the quiet, calm beauty the Niobrara River has to offer. We will be launching from Smith Falls State Park, Nikols Landing, and pulling out at Sunny Brook Landing. Float time will be approximately three hours with two planned stops for exploration, Big Cedar Falls and Stair Step Falls. You can expect to be on the river for four to five hours.

Kayaks: There will be 10 kayaks, life vests, and paddles available at no cost on a first reserve, first serve basis. If you reserve a kayak please take this commitment seriously as others may have to pay an outfitter for a kayak reservation.

After registration, you will be notified if you need to reserve a kayak. If you have your own gear, awesome! Please still register your attendance for the float trip.
