Do you love butterflies?  Are you a community member interested in conservation and science? Then join us for Nebraska’s Big Butterfly Count Workshop, Saturday May 4th, 2024, 1:00pm-5:00pm at the Whitney Education Center, 2206 N M Rd, Marquette, NE.

Nebraska’s Big Butterfly Count is a community science project. It was developed to collect statewide data in order to better understand butterfly diversity across Nebraska. At this workshop you will learn about community science, how to identify eastern/central Nebraska butterflies, and learn how you can contribute to Nebraska's Big Butterfly Count. Participants will receive project resources, guidance, and support from community science project leaders.

We are looking for dedicated volunteers. The NBBC survey frequency is annually, a minimum of every other week, throughout the growing season.

This workshop is FREE to attend, but space is limited.  Register Below.

For questions please contact Jamie.bachmann@nebraska.gov.

This community science project is in collaboration with the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, Nebraska Master Naturalist, and the Nebraska Natural Legacy Project.
